Abstract The improved outcome following cardiac transplantation has produced changes in the traditional criteria for potential candidates. We have analyzed these changes and the clinical aspects involved in the selection process, which are of critical importance to assure an excellent result of cardiac transplantation in patients with advanced heart failure.
