Abstract Legal protections and remedies for sex workers are important mechanisms for redressing discrimination. This paper proposes a strategic approach at Queensland and national levels using industrial and anti-discrimination laws and institutions to effect change in legal processes and regimes and increase uptake of individual remedies. It provides a strategic approach that could be considered by other organisations advocating with, and for, members of other marginalised groups to effect systemic change.
