Abstract Slowing growth of bacteria can give our natural systems time to get on top of an infection. Vancomycin was then added to cantilevers coated with these two molecules: dAla from the normal bacteria, and dLac from the resistant bacteria, as well as a negative control molecule (PEG) made from ethylene glycol molecules that are similar in structure to water.
