The aim of this study is to describe and analyse the development in the economy of Singapore. Reference is made to the significant events that influence the past, the present and the future.

This involves outlining the circumstances leading to the high unemployment problems in 1958, the labor shortage situation in 1971 and the negative growth rate in 1985, describing the measures and policies implemented by the government. and analysing their effectiveness and implication on the future.
