Abstract The pharmacist has an emerging role in helping patients with asthma to best manage their condition. This role is based on the philosophy of pharmaceutical care whereby the pharmacist works with the patient, their family, caregivers and other health professionals to optimise drug therapy by identifying and resolving actual and potential medication-related problems (MRPs).
