Abstract/Summary The Fryer Library Photograph Collection is a collection of approximately 900 photographs, mostly black and white, some sepia. Photographs mostly relating to Queensland people and places, but including interstate and overseas photographs. Includes photographs of Australian authors, the 1893 Brisbane floods, and Mornington Island (Queensland). There are also a number of photographs of Papua New Guinea which were originally in the Beazley collection (UQFL271).

Additional Notes Honorable Thomas Henry Hassall, Member of the NSW Legislative Assembly, 10 Jun 1886 to 11 Jun 1901. Pastoralist, educated at Loughborough Grammar School in Leicestershire. Arrived in New South Wales in 1861. Worked in the interior as a miner, drover and contractor. Settled in Moree in 1867. Owned racehorses in Queensland. Spent last 19 years in South Africa.
