Formatted abstract End user computing has become an important issue in most organisations during the past decade. When more people become involved in end user computing, management has to consider the quality of software applications developed by end users. There are a large variety of factors influencing the software quality in end user computing. These factors are software complexity, training provided to end users, employee's involvement in business, control environment, organisational impact of the application, etc.

In this research, field studies are conducted in three organisations to evaluate these influential factors. The research aims to explore the relationships between these factors and software quality. Data is collected through questionnaires, formal testing procedures, and open question interviews. Pearson correlation and t-significance level test are used to test the proposed, hypotheses.

The result indicates that there is a U-shape relationship between software complexity and software quality a positive linear relationship between training provided to end users and software quality, and a negative linear relationship between employee's involvement in business and software quality. There is no significant result for the relationship between control environment and software quality, and the relationship between organisational impact and control environment. The data also shows that control environment is organisation dependent rather than software application dependent.
