Formatted abstract
Sandstone Gothic shifts uneasily between wistful evocation and venomous condemnation of the world(s) of which the selves of Andrew Riemer have been a/part. It is also an immensely sad book, written by a man who resigned because he refused to continue teaching 'in the ruins of what was the English Department', because it had so radically altered as to value works by (Australian?) writers, writers like Andrew Riemer.
