Abstract/Summary [on reverse of photograph] From Alec Yeates, Land Dept. Preparing float to lead Commem procession 1938 (?). Jim Newman at wheel, Caption placed on unit shortly afterwards read: "Mr Lyons re-arms- Tanks a million". Preceeded by the "Relief Band", this float lead the precession down George St. The procession halted at intervals along Queen St. to enable the driver's assistant to obtain radiator water from fhips to cool the radiator.
