Abstract/Summary CuO catalysts supported on mesoporous silica SBA-15 were prepared via wet impregnation from anhydrous copper nitrate. The obtained materials were studied as catalysts for NO reduction by CO in a fixed bed reactor at 300 to 550 ºC, without the use of ammonia or urea. The catalysts were characterised by XRD, N2 adsorption and ICP. The effects of particle size of catalyst on internal diffusion and addition of a ceria promoter on catalyst activity were studied. The catalyst loaded with 10 %wt CuO showed the highest activity for NO conversion. Doping ceria in to 5 %wt CuO/SBA-15 catalyst was not observed to improve NOx conversion.
