Abstract/Summary Aldosterone increases sodium and fluid retention. However, the reported effects of aldosterone on the heart have been largely limited to left ventricular (LV) hypertrophy and fibrosis. Here we test the hypothesis that hyperaldosteronism (HA) results in volume overload of the heart.
