Abstract/Summary Creative writing in the Spanish second language classroom: This paper attempts to show the importance of the use of a literary text as a source of inspiration and motivation to writing practices in the context of a second language learning. The method consists of a process where the reading is considered essential to make the students aware of writing mechanisms with the aim of using them to create their own texts.
