Abstract/Summary The Fryer Library Photograph Collection is a collection of approximately 900 photographs, mostly black and white, some sepia. Photographs mostly relating to Queensland people and places, but including interstate and overseas photographs. Includes photographs of Australian authors, the 1893 Brisbane floods, and Mornington Island (Queensland). There are also a number of photographs of Papua New Guinea which were originally in the Beazley collection (UQFL271).

Additional Notes Collection of photographs taken from the New England Highway, Queensland. Inscriptions on verso; (a) Looking across Mt Alford to Coochin and Mt Maroon (3161) McPherson Range away to right about 8 miles cross country from Mt Edwardson return trip via Boonah. (Taken from Teviot Range). (b) Pioneer Cairn in Fassifern Reserve, New England Arnold Wienholt. Highway below Gt Divide Range 60 mile from Brisbane at the foot of the deat tree in the background can be seen the pioneer graves. (c) French "Ponchagin" 1965 extinct volcano. These farms to benefit from Moogerah Dam. Taken from New England Highway.
