Metrics-based research evaluation is gaining increasing importance in assessing research performance on international, national and institutional levels.

International university ranking lists, national-based research assessment schemes and institutional approaches are now an established feature of the research assessment landscape. Access to data, ensuring quality and developing reasonable indicators are of pivotal importance in the success of these undertakings.

Invited International and Australian speakers addressed critical issues of research evaluation from their national perspectives.
