The Mexican actor Gael García Bernal has taken on various roles through his career. Because of this capacity to play such different roles he has become one of most revered Latin American actors. This study reads Amores Perros, El crimen del padre Amaro, Diarios de motocicleta y La mala educacion, at the intersection between the representation of the male body, the tension between past and present and the hopes of bringing together a global audience.
