Abstract/Summary BreastScreen Aotearoa (BSA) has offered government funded biennial mammography screening for all NZ women aged 50-64 years since 1999. In July 2004 the target age group was extended to include women aged 45- 49 years and 65-69 years. This Internal Monitoring Report includes the first 24 months of data for these additional age groups. For women aged 45-49 years and 65-69 years, a two-year period has now elapsed, and for some indicators biennial data is available for these extended age groups. For other indicators (e.g. re-screen rates, treatment data) the biennial data presented relates only to women 50-64 years. An additional development in the current reporting period was the restructuring of BreastScreen Auckland & North (BSAN) into three lead providers BreastScreen Auckland Limited (BSAL), BreastScreen Counties Manukau (BSCM), and BreastScreen Waitemata (BSWN). This occurred halfway through the current reporting period with BSCM beginning screens in September 2005. Data for all indicators are presented for BSAL, but only the current six-month data for BSCM and BSWN are presented in this report. A biennium has not yet elapsed for these Lead Providers, and so only cumulative raw figures for the previous 12 months are presented. The current report also presents trend data for a range of indicators over the period 2001-2006. This enables lead providers to track performance against previous 6 month reporting periods and previous biennia
