Abstract/Summary Distributed shared memory (DSM) is an attractive alternative to multiprocessors for parallel processing in a distributed environment, To exploit various platforms available in a distributed environment, in this paper we present a DSM system developed on the Java Virtual Machine (JVM). The system can easily hide the difference in computer architectures and integrate various computation resources together for better performance.
