Formatted abstract
As Rowe concludes, if we are to take back some of the cultural power we have ceded to the media sports cultural complex, we need to know more about media sports texts. This book makes a valuable and engaging contribution to that knowledge, in addition to its primary function as an introductory text. By drawing together in the one place a wide range of ideas and concepts, Rowe cogently articulates the current state of media sports scholarship, providing students with a solid base from which to pursue further research.
